Produced in the picturesque “cool climate” village of Chablis, one of the most famous wine-producing areas of Burgundy. At 13.5 hectares, Domaine Moreau-Naudet’s Chablis Village vineyards make up the largest parcel of their 22 hectare estate. All Moreau-Naudet’s vineyards grow on the famous Kimmeridge clay/chalk.
The Naudet family has been making wine since the 17th century, but the actual Domaine of Moreau-Naudet was only established in 1950, with the marriage of Marie Naudet and René Moreau. Stéphane took over from his father Roger in 1991 and has taken the Estate from strength to strength. They own 22 hectares of vineyards, with an average age of over 30 years. Working solely to organic principles, all harvesting is done by hand and Stéphane tends to pick later than his neighbours, adding more weight to the wines without any loss of acidity. The result is that Stéphane has produced a wine of a high calibre, encapsulating the quality and above all mineral expression of this renowned region.
This wine goes well with all types of white fish and shellfish, also sushi.
