‘Tramari’ Rosé di Primitivo Salento IGP

Tramari Rose di Primitivo: A standout medal winning wine – International Wine and Spirit Competition 2016, bronze.

Another excellent Primitivo example, but of the pink variety, and a standout wine from the San Marzano cooperative.  With intense cherry and red berry aromas, and a balanced and refreshing style, it is irresistible!

2015 ‘Tramari‘ Rosé di Primitivo Salento IGP, Cantina San Marzano, Puglia, Italy
Cantine San Marzano was founded in 1962 when 19 long established families came together to share their resources and expertise. Since then the number of members has grown to over 1200 and the focus remains solidly on quality aligned to authenticity – promoting both the individuality of local grapes and regions. Under the stewardship of winemaker Caterina Bellanova their wines are now broadly acknowledged as some of the finest in the region.
San Marzano is situated in Salento, otherwise known as the ‘heel’ of Italy in the historical region of Puglia, famous for its prolific olive and grape production. Historically, many wines were used for blending, but a number of producers such as San Marzano have turned to more focused, quality driven production which in turn has raised the region’s profile on the international stage.
A perfect match for salad, and  a treat with chicken Caesar or Salad Niçoise.
