2015 Côtes du Rhône Viognier ‘Les Gendrines’, Pierre Gaillard Contrary to Condrieu vines that face south, the Viognier is planted on fine granite-laden sandy hillsides facing east. This cooler expositions allows fruit to develop good acidity, as well as richness and maturity as a result of low yields. From eminent producer Pierre Gaillard, currently in charge of 77 hectares of vineyard across the Northern Rhône, ranging from Côte-Rôtie through to Cornas in the South. The result is an extensive range of wines that demonstrates the fantastic terroirs of the Rhône Valley. Maturation in French oak (5% new) for 7-8 months.
