Made from 100% Albariño in Rias Baixas in Galicia, this has a real citrusy tang that is refreshing at the very first sip and enhances whatever lighter foods you are eating. The estate is now owned by the illustrious La Rioja Alta since 1988, which means great care was taken to keep this wine as lively as possible.

Producer

This Albariño estate in Rías Baixas was acquired by La Rioja Alta S.A. in 1988, when the company, formed by five Rioja winemaking families in 1895, took the bold decision to cease white Rioja production and find somewhere to produce a better Spanish white wine. The Galician winery was rebuilt – twice – and the vineyards expanded from five to 65 hectares. The project has been run throughout by Ángel Suárez, who found a microclimate and planted and vinified in such a way to produce Albariño of remarkable balance – citrus acidity, stone-fruit aromatics and great structure.

Grape Variety

100% Albariño grapes from the vineyards in O Rosal and Cambados (D.O. Rias Baixas)
This vintage, malolactic fermentation took place in 15% of the tanks. The wine was was kept on the lees until bottling, with periodic stirring to keep them in suspension and provide the wine with complexity

Yellow with green hues; clean and bright. Ample, forthright nose, highlighted by the typical varietal aromas of the Albariño and a remarkable citrus background. Lively, fresh and structured in the mouth, with well-integrated acidity.
