Lothian Vineyards Pinot Noir has aromas of red plums, cherries and touches of oatmeal on the nose are mirrored on the palate, where there is a lovely ripeness of fruit, balanced by the fresh acidity. Strawberries and red summer fruits are complemented by subtle hints of dark chocolate and orange, supported by fine tannins.

Origin

The 2020 Pinot Noir comes from a 3.25-hectare vineyard planted to two different clones on Table Mountain sandstone soils. The vines were planted in 2005 and are trained on a three-wire trellis system. The grapes were harvested by hand.

Lothian Estate is situated in the mountainous realm of the cool Elgin Valley. The estate is run by Gavin and Ewen Wilson, who hail from 3 generations of Cape winemakers. They now have their sights set firmly  on crafting Pinot Noir and Chardonnay with finesse and elegance that reflects the unique landscape of the region, Lothian works closely with renowned winemaker and Master of Wine Richard Kershaw to produce these impressive single vineyard wines.
