Whilst completely at home in the Loire Valley, it’s unusual to find examples of the vine planted so far west, here, within the Muscadet region.
François Boulanger heads-up a family domaine that controls some 45-hectares, 25 hectares of which are classified as Muscadet. The balance covers a range of varietal IGP and Vin de France wines, plus there is a négociant business which provides the business with some other domaine-bottled Muscadet as well as additional appellations through the Loire.
Best served cool, leave for 20 minutes in the fridge. It’s full of bright red fruit so a perfect match for mixed plate of charcuterie, roasted chicken or pork, and a ratatouille.
