Domaine des Echardières Sauvignon Blanc, Touraine
Spot on Loire Valley Sauvignon Blanc, which could easily pass off as being from a more revered appellation. Bold flinty nose and bright gooseberry and citric fruit palate; really zesty, refreshing and satisfying. Finishes with a pleasant chalky, leafy note.
Lawson’s Dry Hills Sauvignon Blanc
Pronounced passionfruit together with fresh herbs, fruit salad and floral aromas lead to an intense, fruit-driven palate with a chalky minerality and good concentration. This wine is from the outstanding 2020 vintage and rates highly on the drinkability scale!
Adobe Carmenère, Emiliana Organic
Carmenère is the grape with a double life – for years was thought to be Merlot in Chile! Full of black fruits and white pepper dusting. One of the original great grapes of Bordeaux, made here by the largest organic and biodynamic producer in South America. Purplish-red colour. Intensely fruity nose, with standout plum and redcurrant aromas and hints of toast and blackcurrants. Smooth, ripe, velvety tannins and good density. An enjoyable and persistent finish.

I immediately messaged my friend who recommended WineTrust when I opened this bottle to thank him as this was a beautiful red that was just too easy to drink. So… I’ve come to remind myself just how easy it was and buying more. Lovely.
Rich, silky, spicy and very dry – a classic Syrah and another great value wine from Winetrust.

Snobbery and wine go together like love and marriage. I remember visiting the States a few years ago and getting very snooty about people putting ice cubes in their wine… even red wine! But let’s stop and think a minute. Sometimes, when the weather is pushing up the mercury, it is advisable to add a…Read on
